The Power of Pressing Pause
What a fabulous energy to return to after a break! We have spicy Aquarius season upon us, a new moon, and a brand-new year. What a yummy treat, oh my!
After taking a well-earned break over the holidays and travelling to Japan with my family, I’ve returned with a deep sense of gratitude for this life. Sometimes, it takes a proper pause to fully see the expansive joy and freedom, both within ourselves and in the world around us.
As 2024 came to a close, I was feeling fried! Between the chaos of wrapping up the school year as a primary school mom and juggling my personal life and business, I hit a familiar wall. Despite a year of massive growth—making positive lifestyle changes, leaning into self-discipline, and prioritizing my well-being—I still felt stuck. There was a block keeping me from accessing my fire, that vibrant, powerful part of myself I know is there.
So what did I do? I pressed pause.
Sometimes, the noise of life gets so loud that we can’t hear what our inner voice is trying to tell us. Social media, busy schedules, and the constant pull of everyday life drown out the whispers of our soul. For me, stepping back from work and social media gave me the space I needed to listen deeply to myself.
It was during this time of rest that I realized the block I’d been struggling with wasn’t something external. It was rooted in a lack of boundaries and in ignoring what I truly needed.
When life feels out of alignment, it’s often a sign that something is begging for our attention—an old pattern, an unhealed wound, or an outdated belief that’s ready to be released. But we can’t uncover these things without giving ourselves the space and safety to look within.
For me, the theme of 2025 is getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. Growth often comes with discomfort—it’s part of the process. I call it “pain for purpose.” Whether it’s emotional pain, the discomfort of breaking old habits, or the challenge of sitting with hard feelings, this process allows us to shed what no longer serves us and step into the next version of ourselves.
This isn’t about punishment; it’s about radical self-love and honesty. It’s about standing up for yourself, showing up for your own growth, and leaning into the work your soul is calling you to do.
As we step into 2025, I encourage you to take time to reflect on the year that’s passed:
What worked for you?
What didn’t?
What patterns or beliefs are you ready to let go of?
What shifts did you make that helped you grow?
Use these reflections to set intentions for the year ahead—not from a place of ego or external validation, but from a place of deep, soulful alignment. What is your mission in this life? What actions can you take to move closer to it?
It’s easy to get lost in dreaming about the life we want, but dreams alone won’t create change. To manifest your vision, you have to take action. Start small. Take consistent steps. Remember, every big shift begins with a single choice.
At the heart of all this work is love. Love for yourself, love for your journey, and love for all that you’re becoming. Sometimes it’s tough love—letting go of what doesn’t serve you is hard, but it’s necessary for growth.
When you commit to loving yourself fully, the universe responds by aligning you with the people, opportunities, and circumstances that match your vibration. Your light grows brighter, and your path becomes clearer.
As we move into this year, let’s lovingly and honestly let go of what’s weighing us down. Let’s embrace the discomfort of growth, knowing it’s leading us to something greater. And let’s hold ourselves with kindness through every step of the journey.
You’ve got this. We’ve got this. Let’s make 2025 a year of radical self-love, intentional growth, and unapologetic alignment <3
